Frequently Asked Questions at It's Working Out
WELCOME! We love new participants at It's Working Out. Nearly all of our classes are multi-level with options to progress and regress the exercises. This means you can workout alongside a seasoned pro and adjust the exercises to suit your strength and ability. Here's the skinny on our studio to help you feel at home:
+ So... IWO has two studios, TRX & Row/Train, where should I park for each?
The TRX studio is at 3546 Columbia Parkway and has a lot to park in while you are exercising in the TRX STUDIO ONLY. The Row/Train studio is next door at 3540 Columbia Parkway. We are fortunate to have ample street parking available outside or our TRX lot on McDowell, Hoge and Strafer. The large lot across the street is a COMMUNITY LOT so all are welcome to park there. Please respect this policy. If you choose to workout at both studios back to back, please park on the side streets or in the community lot or move your car to the lot designated for the studio you are utilizing. Also, please be mindful that you are not blocking others in when you park in the lot - they might need to leave before you.
+ What should I wear? What should I bring?
Please dress in comfortable workout clothes (yoga pants, shorts, etc.). For rowing, baggy shorts are not recommended. We provide mats, but feel free to bring your own. You will need a towel and water. If you forget a towel, we have $1 rentals. Both studios have complimentary filtered water to refill your bottle. We also sell bottled water for $1. For your safety and the studio's cleanliness, please change into your workout shoes upon arrival at both studios.
+ Why do we need to change into our workout shoes upon arrival?
Your safety and comfort are of our utmost concern. When the floor gets wet and/or dirty, it becomes slippery and this is not an ideal environment for you and for others in the class, so please be mindful of this policy. We have loaner shoes if you forget your shoes.
+ How do I get started with TRX or Rowing classes?
We suggest taking advantage of our New Client Intro Offer-choose 30 days of TRX, ROW & YOGA for only $69! Thirty days begin on the day of your first class, so take advantage today!
First TRX or Row class info: Please reserve online for class, so our instructor is prepared to meet for your tutorial. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your tutorial - even if you have used these modalities before.
+ Can I make a recurring reservation?
This is a great idea if you regularly attend the same classes! If you have a monthly membership, you can schedule 45 days in advance. Select SIGN UP AS UNPAID if that option appears. If you use a 10 class pass, you can make as many reservations as you have classes remaining on your pass.
+ What is the cancellation policy? How do I cancel a reservation?
Please be respectful when reserving classes. All cancellations must be made online 12 hours prior to your scheduled class. However, please cancel as soon as you realize your plans have changed. Failure to provide 12 hours notice will result in payment for that class or, for those with monthly memberships or an Intro Offer, a $10 cancellation fee will be billed to the card on file. Note, the date of the charge may not coincide with the date of the class, as the report is not run daily. To cancel a reservation, LOGIN to your account, go to RESERVATIONS on the left side bar, use CANCEL button next to reservation you wish to cancel. Private training has a 24 hour cancellation policy.
+ I see you have a personal training studio, do you also offer private TRX, rowing or yoga lessons?
Yes, if you prefer private lessons, or want a lesson before starting clases, please contact us with days and times you are available or REQUEST an appointment. A credit card must be on file to reserve the studio and the trainer's time, our 24 hour cancellation policy applies. Private lesson $75 and up for 50 minutes Semi private $90 and up for 50 minutes
+ Can I share class passes or my membership?
10 class passes can be shared with others. Please email us with this request and the name of the person you would like to share the pass with. We will confirm via email once the pass has been linked to both. Note, your passes going forward will be shared until you request the person to be unlinked from your account. Memberships are for individuals and are not able to be shared.
+ Do you offer private classes, team building, or "Sweatworking" classes?
YES, we would love to create an unique and awesome experience for your group. Choose TRX, rowing, yoga, foam rolling or a combination - we can help you decide the best format to suit your group's interests and fitness levels. Need a themed workout? Let our creative instructors design the playlist and exercises with your input! Have a business group? Sweatworking is the new Networking....get fit, have fun and forgo the steak dinner and martinis....or do both:)
+ Do you sell gift cards online?
Yes! We make it easy to buy a gift of fun and fitness! Click HERE -and choose amount you would like. Then you can add a personal message and select from several designs. There are options to print from your computer or to email the gift card to the recipient.

+ I'm a newbie, give me an insider tip or two?
Our members and instructors are awesome! We will all help you feel right at home your first few classes.
Please work within your comfort zone. Your safety and progress is very important to us. We will show and suggest modifications, do NOT be too proud to modify exercises. Remember, that we all have different starting points and the progress YOU make is what is important!
Want to save time? If you are heading south on Delta Ave. (coming from Mt. Lookout), take this shortcut to avoid the Columbia Parkway light and traffic! Turn left onto WIDMAN PLACE (Shell Gas Station) Right on HOGE and park there for Row OR take a Left on HANDMAN, Right on McDOWELL. Park on McDowell it is between our 2 studios.... You're Welcome ;)
+ How does the waitlist work?
Word is out-our workouts are fun and effective! Every once in a while we have a waitlist. If this becomes routine, we will add classes :) When you attempt to reserve a spot in a full class online, our software will ask if you want to be added to the waitlist. If you click "Yes," it will show you where you stand on the waitlist. (i.e. you are #1 on waitlist). If a spot becomes available before the class, you will receive an email from us confirming you are in. (Make sure you are opted in for our emails.) We assume you want to take a class if you are waitlisted, so please check your email and cancel any reservation or waitlist spot you can no longer attend. Once this auto email is generated, your reservation is treated like all of our other reservations (12 hour cancellation applies). Make sure you are opted in to receive our emails and that your cell phone number is in our system (login to check your account details) Note, reservations will be held for 5 minutes after the class start time. At that time any reservation may be released to someone on the waitlist of standby.
Please note, if you are on waitlist and a spot does not open, your class pass will not be used.
